Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has assured fans of his team’s readiness ahead of their Ghana Premier League (GPL) Matchweek 21 showdown against Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday.
The Porcupine Warriors will host the Bibires at the Baba Yara Stadium, with kickoff set for 3:00 PM.
Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated fixture, Ogum acknowledged the quality of their opponents but stressed Kotoko’s determination to claim all three points.
“We are very ready for the game on Wednesday, especially since we are playing against one of the best sides in the league. They have good quality players, a good coach, and they know what they are doing on the field, so we are very ready for them,” Ogum said.
Kotoko, firmly in the hunt for the league title, will be aiming to extend their strong run of form against a Berekum Chelsea side renowned for their defensive organization and tactical discipline. With both teams eager to strengthen their positions on the league table, a fiercely contested encounter is expected.
The Porcupine Warriors currently sit atop the table with 42 points from 23 games, while Chelsea, positioned eighth with 32 points, will be looking to pull off an upset. Their last league meeting ended in a 1-1 draw, setting the stage for another intense battle in Kumasi.
Kotoko will rely on key players such as Saaka Dauda and Kwame Opoku to break through Chelsea’s resilient defense, while the visitors will be aiming to frustrate the hosts and secure a crucial result.
