Ghana’s U-20 national team, the Black Satellites, have been placed in a challenging Group C for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled to be held in Egypt in 2025.
The official draw for the tournament was conducted on Sunday, April 13, in Cairo, placing Ghana alongside Senegal, DR Congo, and the Central African Republic in a competitive group.
As part of their preparations for the tournament, the Black Satellites resumed training last week in Accra. Head coach Desmond Ofei is overseeing the team’s buildup, which includes a number of planned friendly matches ahead of their departure for Egypt.
Should Ghana advance from the group stage, they could face formidable opponents such as hosts Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, or Zambia in the knockout phase.
The 2025 edition of the U-20 AFCON promises intense competition as the continent’s top young talents battle for continental glory and qualification to the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament will be staged from 27 April to 18 May, 2025.
