Ghana’s U20 national football team, the Black Satellites, have been placed in a challenging Group C for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to take place in Egypt in 2025.

The official draw for the tournament was held on Sunday, April 13, in Cairo, where participating teams learned their group stage opponents. Ghana has been drawn alongside Senegal, DR Congo, and the Central African Republic in what promises to be a competitive group.

The Black Satellites, who are currently deep into preparations, resumed training last week in Accra. Head Coach Desmond Ofei is leading the team through intensive sessions as they gear up for the continental tournament.

As part of their build-up, the team will engage in a series of friendly matches in the coming weeks to sharpen their form ahead of their departure to Egypt.

Should Ghana successfully navigate the group stage, they could face strong contenders such as host nation Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, or Zambia in the knockout rounds.

The tournament will not only test the mettle of Africa’s rising football talents but also offer Ghana a chance to reclaim its reputation as a powerhouse in youth football.
