Kurt Okraku has expressed his gratitude after being appointed as the 2nd Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) President received his confirmation on Saturday during a CAF press briefing held in Accra. In his announcement, CAF President Patrice Motsepe highlighted Okraku’s appointment, commending the Ghanaian official.
Okraku is one of five newly appointed Vice Presidents, joining Fouzi Lekjaa (Morocco), Pierre-Alain Mounguengui (Gabon), Ms. Bestine Kazadi Ditabala (Democratic Republic of Congo), and Feizal Sidat (Mozambique) in this prestigious role.
In a message of appreciation, Okraku thanked Ghana’s President John Mahama for his “love and invaluable support throughout this journey.” He also expressed his gratitude to Kofi Adams, the Sports and Recreation Minister.
Okraku extended his thanks to the President and leadership of CAF, stating, “I am deeply honored by the trust you have placed in me. This recognition is a testament to the confidence you have in my abilities, and I vow to dedicate myself fully to supporting the President and the Executive Committee in advancing African football.”
