Asante Kotoko, have officially announced the signing of central defender Zackaria Fuseini on a three-year deal ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 27-year-old joins from Berekum Chelsea, where he made his debut as a teenager and went on to register 133 appearances. A former Black Meteors defender, Fuseini also had a brief stint with San Fernando CD in Spain, gaining valuable experience abroad.
A calm and composed centre-back, he is known for his sharp reading of the game and strong leadership. As captain of Berekum Chelsea, he arrives in Kumasi with a wealth of experience and a proven track record in Ghanaian football.
Speaking to Kotoko Media, Zackaria said, “I’m honoured to be joining Asante Kotoko,” said Fuseini. “I believe this is the platform I’ve always hoped for to catapult my career to the next level.” My focus is to win laurels with the club and to work hard for a place in the Black Stars, because I know I’m good enough. Some say this move is a few years late, but I don’t believe that. I’m arriving mature and experienced, and I’m ready to handle the pressure that comes with playing for such a big club.”
