Ghana international Joseph Paintsil found the net for LA Galaxy, but his goal was not enough as they lost 3–1 to Inter Miami in the Major League Soccer on Saturday night.
The winger, 27, played the full match and struck in the 59th minute, skillfully breaking through the defence before slotting in a low finish. His effort brought Galaxy level at 1–1.
However, Inter Miami proved too strong. Jordi Alba opened the scoring in the first half, and late goals from Lionel Messi in the 84th minute and Luis Suárez in the 89th sealed the victory for Miami.
Paintsil and his teammates, who are enduring a difficult run of results, will now look to bounce back in their next game against Colorado.
