Ghanaian youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku stole the spotlight alongside Jordan Ayew as Leicester City fought to a spirited 2–2 draw against Oxford United in the English Championship.
Leicester endured a difficult start when Oxford United’s Will Lankshear opened the scoring in the 9th minute. But the Foxes responded swiftly through Jordan Ayew, who punished a defensive error and curled home a fine equaliser just four minutes later.
Oxford regained the lead before the break after a corner ricocheted off Leicester’s Boubakary Soumaré for an unfortunate own goal. The Foxes’ challenge grew steeper when Aaron Ramsey received a straight red card, forcing them to play with ten men.
Despite the setback, Leicester came out fighting in the second half—and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku was at the heart of their revival. The Ghanaian winger tormented Oxford’s defence with his pace and creativity, eventually delivering a perfectly timed cross that found Ricardo Pereira. Pereira made no mistake, slotting home to make it 2–2 in the 55th minute.
Issahaku’s lively display earned praise from fans and pundits alike. His clever movement and pinpoint delivery provided the spark Leicester needed to salvage a point away from home.
