Ghanaian forward Kwabena Owusu has completed a move to Israeli Premier League outfit Maccabi Bnei Reineh in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old joins the club after parting ways with Hungarian giants Ferencvaros, where he won three league titles during his time in Budapest.
“Maccabi Reina Club announces the signing of Ghanaian striker Owusu, 28 years old, who plays both as a winger and a forward. Owusu arrives from Hungarian club Ferencvaros, having also spent the past two years on loan in Turkey’s second division and previously at Azerbaijan’s Qarabag,” the club confirmed in an official statement.
Owusu brings a wealth of experience, having plied his trade in Spain, Azerbaijan, Hungary, and Turkey. Known for his pace, technical ability, and versatility in attack, the Ghanaian forward is expected to inject sharpness and firepower into Bnei Reineh’s frontline for the rest of the campaign.
“The Ghanaian striker came through the youth academy of Spanish club Leganés, has represented the Ghana national team, and has featured in several European leagues. Standing at 1.82 meters tall, he is a fast and technically gifted player with strong penetration ability, and is expected to add quality and strength to the team’s attack,” the statement added.
Owusu could make his debut this weekend when Maccabi Bnei Reineh face Hapoel Petach-Tikva in the Israeli league.
