Cameroon v D.R Congo

Venue: Al Barid Stadium (Rabat)

Time: 7 pm

Date: Wednesday 13th November 2025

Referee: Ismail Mahmood (Sudan)

TV Schedule: Super Sport Africa (Grandstand, ROA)

D.R. Congo will forever rue the 3-2 defeat to Senegal in round 8 of the World Cup qualifiers. After taking a commanding 2-0 lead in Kinshasa at the Stade des Martyrs in front of 80,00 vociferous fans, Senegal shockingly bounced back and won the game to take full control of the group.

The results led to fans destroying chairs at the venue to express their displeasure. It was a horrific moment for Congolese football because they thought it was the time for them to end their 42-year wait for the FIFA World Cup finals.

Leopards’ head coach Sebastien Desabre came under immense criticism for Senegal’s defeat, but had the support of the Federation Congolaise de Football-Association, so he continued his job. They bounced back with two straight wins against Togo and Sudan to win more points to finish in the best second-placed teams table to set up a clash against Cameroon.

Cameroon have been at loggerheads with Belgian tactician Marc Brys since he was appointed the replacement for Rigobert Song. His squad for the crucial game against D.R. Congo was delayed because the Federation was not in support of some of his selections.

Off-field issues have been a major concern for The Indomitable Lions, as they remain the major reason why they could not compete against Cape Verde.

Veterans like Vincent Aboubakar, Christian Bassogog and Eric Maxim Choupo Moting are expected to lead the team.

Andre Onana, Andre Anguissa, Bryan Mbeumo and Carlos Baleba are due to play key roles against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
