Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, have advanced three places in the latest FIFA World Ranking, continuing their positive trajectory under coach Otto Addo. The team now sits 72nd in the global standings.
This rise follows a successful October 2025 international window, where the team secured two crucial victories in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Ghana recorded a commanding 5-0 win over Madagascar in Morocco before securing a 1-0 victory against Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium. These results confirmed the Black Stars’ position at the top of Group I.
Despite this improvement on the world stage, the team’s standing within Africa changes; Ghana hold 15th place in the continental ranking.
The Black Stars, in the just ended FIFA window break, loss 2:0 to Japan and also 1:0 to South Korea in the two international friendly matches they played.
