Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito was left frustrated after his side suffered a shock loss to lowly ranked Basake Holy Stars. Kotoko were unbeaten prior to the loss.
The midweek Ghana Premier League game that was played out at Ayinase in the Western Region, had the home side Basake clinch a big 2-1 win over Kotoko.
The loss means Kotoko have three draws, a loss and a win in their last five games further highlighting the team’s struggles overcoming an indifferent form in recent games.

Speaking after the loss to Basake, Karim Zito, who looked very unhappy, noted that Kotoko are still within touching distance of league leaders Aduana Stars despite the form drop off.
“Seriously we have won this game.”
“To me, we shouldn’t have lost this game but it’s part of the game. We didn’t play badly, we played good football, we created chances but putting the ball into the net was once again the problem.”
“We are still chasing, we have 20 [points], the one leading [Aduana Stars] has 23 [points] so it’s only one match [difference]…so we are still chasing” Zito said.
