Asante Kotoko has been slapped with formal charges by the Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee following allegations of threats and physical assault on match officials during their Matchday 12 fixture against Medeama SC.
According to the GFA’s charge sheet, the club is accused of failing to ensure the safety of match officials after allowing unauthorized persons access to Zone 2 during the halftime break. The intruders allegedly confronted and attacked the officials, breaching the 2025 Enhanced Matchday Protocols designed to safeguard referees and match personnel.
The Porcupine Warriors have been instructed to submit their official defence to the charges by Wednesday, December 3.
The incident stems from the fiercely contested match at the Baba Yara Stadium, which ended in a 2-2 draw between Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC.
