Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren says Ghana must show courage and work hard when they face England in Tuesday night’s international friendly.
The match, which kicks off at 19:00 GMT at St. Mary’s Stadium, comes just days after England’s convincing 3–0 victory over China. Björkegren believes that result offers important lessons for his team.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, he noted that China looked too nervous against the European champions, reminding his players that fear against a strong side only leads to defeat. He urged the Black Queens to attack the game differently and trust their individual and collective strengths.
The coach said his squad is ready for the physical battles, emphasizing that Ghana must fight for every duel and maintain discipline throughout the game. He insisted that their aim is to compete for a win, even if the odds appear challenging.
Björkegren praised the unity in the camp and encouraged the players to show their identity on the pitch. He added that Ghana will give everything, and if the team remains brave and hardworking, supporters will see a strong and committed performance.
The friendly marks a big test for the Black Queens as they continue to build confidence on the international stage.
