Gor Mahia have announced that Ghanaian midfielder Enock Morrison suffered a calf injury after being involved in a road accident while travelling to training.

The update arrives as the record Kenyan champions gear up for the highly anticipated Mashemeji Derby against AFC Leopards. According to the club, the 25-year-old was fortunate to escape serious injury.

Morrison has been discharged from the hospital and is able to walk without difficulty, though he will continue with medical follow-ups before returning to full training.

In an official statement, the club shared on X:
“Midfielder Enock Morrison sustained a calf injury in an accident en route to training; the medical update is positive — no fractures, he is able to walk and has been discharged. Wishing him a speedy recovery.”

This incident comes just days after another accident involving four Gor Mahia players — Austine Odhiambo, Fidel Origa, and two others — on November 29. All four suffered minor injuries and were treated and discharged the same day, raising fresh concerns over player safety during travel.

While Gor Mahia remain hopeful that Morrison will recover in time for their crucial league fixture, the club has yet to confirm an official return date.
