Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has refused to comment on reports linking the club with a January move for Ghana international Antoine Semenyo, as speculation surrounding the Bournemouth forward continues to intensify.

Semenyo, 25, has attracted widespread attention in the Premier League following his strong performances this season. Alongside Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea have all reportedly expressed interest. Tottenham are said to have tabled a lucrative salary package, while Chelsea made a late approach.

Arsenal, once considered a top destination for Semenyo, appeared hesitant, allowing other Premier League clubs to enter the race. Liverpool were previously tipped as frontrunners before City emerged as a serious contender.

£65 Million Release Clause Puts Semenyo at the Centre of January Bids

Bournemouth are preparing for renewed interest during the January transfer window after turning down offers in the summer. Semenyo’s £65 million release clause is set to become active in the winter, potentially triggering a high-profile bidding battle for the attacker.

Following Manchester City’s 2–1 win over Nottingham Forest, Guardiola was asked about the speculation during his post-match interview with TNT Sports. The City boss offered a brief and firm response:

“Next question.”

Semenyo Shines on the Pitch

On the field, Semenyo continues to demonstrate his Premier League quality. He scored his ninth league goal of the season in Bournemouth’s 4–1 defeat to Brentford on Saturday and has also provided three assists. With 11 goal involvements in 16 league appearances, the Ghanaian forward has shown consistency and attacking threat, reinforcing why he remains a hot commodity in the transfer market.
