GPL: “We want to make the supporters Happy” – Bechem Utd coach Kobina Amissah urges players to reset mentality ahead of Berekum Chelsea clash

Head coach of Bechem United, Kobina Amissah, has urged his players to quickly put behind them their heavy defeat to Asante Kotoko as they prepare for their next Ghana Premier League assignment.

The Hunters endured a difficult afternoon in Kumasi last weekend, suffering a humiliating 6-0 loss to the Porcupine Warriors in their Week 16 encounter.

Despite the painful result, Amissah believes the performance itself was not as poor as the scoreline suggested. Speaking ahead of Bechem United’s Week 17 fixture against Berekum Chelsea, the coach admitted the margin of defeat was disappointing but highlighted some positives from his team’s display.

“It’s unfortunate we conceded six goals. I think the performance was encouraging. We saw some good passes and movement. In the first 15 minutes, we got some chances and we should have scored. But that’s football — if you don’t take your chances and the opponent takes theirs, you will be in trouble. The scoreline was bad, but the performance was not bad,” Amissah told Bechem United TV.

The Bechem United boss also revealed that the technical team has been working closely with the players to rebuild their confidence and restore their winning mentality following the setback in Kumasi.

Amissah remains optimistic about his side’s prospects and believes they can bounce back immediately against Berekum Chelsea.

“The boys are trying to get back to their winning mentality. So on Sunday, it will be a different game against Berekum Chelsea. We want to make the supporters happy by winning that particular match,” he added.

The Week 17 Ghana Premier League fixture between Berekum Chelsea and Bechem United will be played on Sunday, January 4.
