Questions on Antoine Semenyo’s likely departure in the January transfer window were expected by Bournemouth in their pre-match conference ahead of their clash against Arsenal on Saturday.
The Spanish were braced for so many questions about their star man, Semenyo. As expected, the press asked about Semenyo’s mood right now, and he revealed that the Ghanaian is okay and willing to do his best for the club against Arsenal.
“He is playing very well. He is doing the right things. He is a top professional, a top guy. He wants to help the team, he wants to help his team-mates and I have no doubt about that. I have no doubt he will do his best,” Iraola disclosed.
Another journalist asked, “Does Semenyo want to leave?”
Iraola answered, “You will have to ask him. I don’t know. I know what I want. I think Antoine is behaving really, really well. There is a lot of noise around him, and he is being a top professional, and I’m sure he will be until the last day.”
He was questioned on how the team will replace him if he does leave: “Obviously, he is a massive player. Not only this season. But everyone has to give their best. If we lose Antoine, that is going to be a massive hit, but you have to move on. It is like this in football.”
‘Will funds be available if they do lose him?’ one of the pressmen asked: “We are not going to lose him for nothing. If we lose him, it’s because the club agrees it is a good deal for the club. Definitely,” Iraola concluded.
The Spanish tactician looked so bored with all the numerous questions he was bombarded with by the journalists.
Antoine Semenyo looks destined for greatness as he prepares to complete his dream move to Manchester City.
