Black Stars head coach Otto Addo was present at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday as Ghana continues to closely track its Europe-based players ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Addo watched the Premier League encounter between Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland as a guest of Ghana forward Mohammed Kudus, whose impressive form since his summer move from West Ham United has underlined his growing importance in the Black Stars setup.

The visit, however, raised concern when Kudus was forced off after just 19 minutes due to injury. The Ghana international was unable to continue and was replaced by Randal Kolo Muani, abruptly ending what was expected to be another standout performance from the in-form attacker.

After the final whistle, Addo held talks with Kudus to assess the extent of the injury, discuss recovery plans, and align on both short- and long-term objectives as Ghana steps up preparations for the World Cup.

The former Borussia Dortmund player and coach is leading Ghana’s push for a fifth FIFA World Cup appearance, with the Black Stars drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama. With a challenging group ahead, maintaining the fitness and form of key players such as Kudus remains a major priority as the road to Canada, Mexico, and the United States 2026 gathers pace.
