German football giants Borussia Dortmund are set to establish their first official International Academy in Africa, with Ghana chosen as the host country.

The BVB International Academy Ghana is scheduled to launch in February 2026 and will provide structured youth development programmes for boys and girls aged 6 to 18. The academy will follow Dortmund’s global model, combining elite training pathways with recreational football opportunities.

The initiative aims to identify, nurture, and develop young football talents, offering professional coaching, modern training methods, and exposure to the club’s football philosophy. It is expected to become a key hub for youth football development in the sub-region.

Borussia Dortmund’s move highlights Ghana’s growing reputation as a football talent hotspot and reflects the Bundesliga club’s commitment to expanding its global footprint while investing in grassroots football.

Further details regarding registration, academy locations, and coaching staff are expected to be released ahead of the official launch.
