Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has shared an emotional reflection on his long and difficult injury journey, describing 2025 as a year he will never forget after finally returning to competitive football.

The Black Stars winger took to social media to express gratitude to everyone who stood by him during his recovery, posting a powerful image from his hospital bed that captured the physical and emotional toll of the setback. In the photo, Fatawu is seen smiling and giving a thumbs-up, with his leg heavily bandaged — a symbol of resilience during one of the toughest periods of his career.

“2025 will always be a year for me to remember,” Fatawu wrote. “From this injury journey to playing football again, thanks to everyone who supported me at this journey. May God protect and guide us this year 2026.”

The post offers a glimpse into the challenges the talented winger endured after suffering a serious injury that sidelined him for a prolonged spell. Known for his pace, direct running and fearless style, Fatawu’s absence was felt both at club level and within the Ghana national setup.

His return to action marked a significant milestone, not just professionally but personally, as he battled through months of rehabilitation, setbacks and uncertainty to regain fitness.

Fatawu’s message has drawn widespread support from fans, teammates and fellow professionals, many of whom praised his mental strength and determination to fight his way back.

As he looks ahead to 2026, the winger will be hoping to put his injury troubles behind him and rediscover the form that made him one of Ghana’s most exciting attacking talents, with both club ambitions and national team aspirations firmly back on track.
