Luton Town are set to complete the permanent signing of English-born Ghanaian forward Gideon Kodua, with head coach Jack Wilshere assuring fans that the deal is effectively already secured following the attacker’s outstanding impact at the club.
Kodua joined the Hatters on loan from West Ham United in the summer, with an option to buy included in the agreement. While his involvement was limited earlier in the season, the 21-year-old has flourished since Wilshere’s arrival, emerging as one of Luton’s most influential players in the final third.
The versatile forward has started six of Luton’s last seven league matches and is currently the club’s top scorer with nine goals in all competitions, including netting the winner against Stevenage for his third consecutive game. His rich vein of form sparked concern among supporters about potential interest from elsewhere, but Wilshere has moved to allay those fears.
Speaking to reassure the fanbase, Wilshere confirmed that Kodua’s permanent move to Kenilworth Road is effectively “in the bag,” stressing that it is only a matter of timing before the deal is finalised.
On the pitch, Kodua continues to underline his value. A tactical switch during the Stevenage match saw him move into a central role, where he immediately made the difference—winning possession, driving forward with intent, and finishing clinically to secure all three points. Wilshere highlighted his adaptability, praising his ability to operate across multiple attacking positions and his growing maturity in key moments.
