English EFL League Two side Harrogate Town, have announced the signing of Emile Acquah, on loan from Dundee until the end of the season.

The striker signed for The Dees from Barrow for an undisclosed fee in Summer 2025 having made 82 appearances in League Town across two seasons with The Bluebirds.

“We’re really pleased to have him, he’s a big striker and we think we can get the best out of him.” Simon Weaver told BBC York.

“We’ve wanted a target man for some time, someone who can be a presence in both boxes and help us play the way we want to.

“We’ve watched a fair bit of him and have admired him for quite a long time so are all excited by what he can bring to the club.”

Born in Hackney, the six-foot-three striker started his career with Southend United, captained by Mark Oxley, where he would make his first appearances in both League One and League Two.

Loan spells at Harlow Town and Maidenhead would allow Acquah even more exposure to first team football, before joining up with Maidenhead on a permanent deal ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

13 goals in his second season at York Road would convince Barrow to swoop for his services and bring the 25-year-old striker to Holker Street.

In his first season with The Bluebirds Acquah appeared in all but two league fixtures, helping his side to an eighth-place finish in his first season, before Dundee made their move at the start of the 2025/26 campaign.

“I’m very pleased to be here, when I heard the interest I was excited to make it happen and I’m happy it has gone through.” Acquah revealed during his first interview since singing.

“I’ve been in this league before and I’ve played against probably every team in it, so I’m excited to get back to it now.

“This is a stadium I like playing at and I feel like I’ve had good performances here before.

“When you walk in the first day and you see people you know, it helps you settle down much quicker because it can be hard settling into a new environment in the middle of the season.

“My hope is that I can bring a physical presence, some goals and be a striker who works hard for the team.”

Acquah will take the number 12 shirt at Town and is available for Saturday’s trip to Shrewsbury, subject to FA and EFL approval.
