Young Apostles CEO Gerald Domfeh has announced the club’s decision to boycott the remainder of their 2025/26 Ghana Premier League fixtures, citing what he described as persistent poor officiating throughout the season.
The strong stance follows Young Apostles’ 2-2 draw with Hohoe United in their Matchday 19 encounter at the Wenchi Sports Stadium, a result that further heightened the club’s frustrations over the standard of refereeing in the league.
Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, Domfeh expressed deep dissatisfaction with the officiating and revealed that the club has resolved to withdraw competitively from upcoming matches unless conditions improve.
“As a club, we have decided to boycott the rest of our Premier League games. We will show up during matchdays but will not compete when the game starts,” Domfeh stated.
He went further to suggest that remaining in the top flight under the current circumstances is no longer attractive to the club, adding that competing in the Division One League could be more beneficial both financially and structurally.
“It will be appropriate for us to compete in the Division One League rather than play in the Premier League. We can sell players and make money playing in Division One, and that is our decision,” he added.
Young Apostles currently sit 15th on the Ghana Premier League table with 22 points and are scheduled to face Dreams FC at the Tuba Astro Turf in their Matchday 20 fixture, a game now clouded by uncertainty following the club’s boycott declaration.
