Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is reportedly on the verge of joining Cagliari Calcio from Atalanta on a season-long loan deal, with an option to buy at the end of the current campaign.
The 23-year-old only arrived in Bergamo last summer, but despite an encouraging start to life at Atalanta, he has already been linked with a temporary move away from the club in search of regular playing time.
Kamaldeen made an immediate impression at the Gewiss Stadium, breaking into the starting line-up and featuring consistently in the early stages of the season. However, his role gradually diminished as the campaign progressed, with the Ghana international losing his starting spot and spending more time on the bench.
So far, the pacey winger has made 15 Serie A appearances, registering two goals and one assist, but has struggled to secure sustained minutes in recent weeks.
According to renowned Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Cagliari have now reached an agreement with Atalanta over a loan move for Kamaldeen, with an official announcement expected imminently. The deal reportedly includes a €11 million purchase option, giving the Sardinian club the chance to make the move permanent.
Cagliari believe Kamaldeen’s pace, dribbling ability, and direct attacking style will significantly bolster their offensive options as they push through the second half of the season. The club sees the Ghanaian as a flexible addition capable of injecting creativity and firepower into their attack during a crucial period of the campaign.
