Ghanaian defender Maxwell Woledzi says football is a powerful tool for unity, bringing people from different countries and backgrounds together.
The 24-year-old joined Nashville SC this winter from Norwegian side Fredrikstad and recently began pre-season preparations for the 2026 MLS campaign. In his first interview with the club, Woledzi expressed excitement about meeting teammates from around the world.
“For me, football means togetherness. When I came to Nashville I saw different people from different countries, from different cities coming together. It brings people together and it is more of a community thing,” Woledzi said.
The centre-back added that without football, he would never have met players from places like Canada, Mexico, or Chile. Woledzi made his unofficial debut for Nashville SC in a pre-season friendly against Chicago Fire last week.
