Black Stars midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has officially completed his loan move after days of delay caused by financial negotiations between his parent club, Anderlecht, and La Louvière.
The transfer, which was first reported on January 12, was held up due to differences over salary coverage, with Anderlecht demanding a higher contribution than what La Louvière initially offered. The two clubs eventually reached an agreement, paving the way for the move to be finalized 18 days later.
The Ghanaian midfielder is understood to have accepted the move primarily to secure regular playing time. Consistent game time is expected to improve his form and strengthen his chances of earning a place in Ghana’s Black Stars squad ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
Ashimeru’s camp believes the loan spell will provide the platform he needs to regain momentum and remain competitive at the highest level of international football.
