FC AshantiGold ’04 has been punished by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee for misconduct during an Access Bank Division One League match.
The Club has been given a five (5) home match ban, fined GHS 30,000, and also issued a formal warning. The decision follows incidents in their league game against Sekondi Rospak FC.
According to the GFA, FC AshantiGold ’04 was found guilty of failing to ensure the safety of match officials. The Club was also charged for the inappropriate behaviour of its supporters during the match.
The home match ban takes immediate effect, meaning the team will not be allowed to play their next five home games at their usual venue. The Club has also been ordered to pay the fine within fourteen (14) days after being officially notified.
In addition, the GFA has warned FC AshantiGold ’04 that any further misconduct in the future will result in harsher sanctions.
