Eintracht Braunschweig announced the signing of German-born Ghanaian attacker Aaron Opoku. The 26-year-old moves from the Turkish top-flight club Kayserispor to Hamburger Straße and signs a contract until June 30, 2028.

Opoku was born in Hamburg and trained at HSV. The winger has so far played in Germany for clubs including Jahn Regensburg, VfL Osnabrück, and 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

Since August, Opoku has been under contract in Turkey with Kayserispor. The 26-year-old brings experience from 80 second-division games (eight goals, eleven assists) and 65 matches in the third division (eight goals, 21 assists).

In the first Turkish league, he featured 19 times in the past half-year (two assists). Opoku is a former Germany U20 national player.

Sport director Benjamin Kessel says: “Aaron is fast, dynamic, and versatile – he also brings a lot of experience in German professional football. He is adaptable and enhances the quality of our squad. With his style, Aaron fits perfectly into our playing philosophy.”

“I am happy to be back in Germany and to have found an emotional traditional club with Eintracht. I am fit and ready to wear the jersey with the red lion on my chest from now on and help the team achieve the season’s goal of staying in the league. I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and work with them on the pitch,” Opoku said at his contract signing.
