Ghanaian midfielder Michael Agbekpornu has officially completed a transfer to Spanish Segunda División side SD Huesca.

The 27-year-old sealed the move from Croatian top-flight club Slaven Belupo on transfer deadline day, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2028.

Agbekpornu joins Huesca after spending three impressive seasons in the Croatian elite league, where he established himself as a strong and reliable defensive midfielder.

During his time with Slaven Belupo, he made 69 appearances, scoring two goals and providing five assists. In the current season alone, he featured in 18 matches across all competitions before completing the move.

In announcing his signing, SD Huesca described Agbekpornu as a defensive midfielder known for his physical strength, solidity, high work rate, and strong tactical discipline.

The club expressed confidence that his experience and qualities will add value to their squad as they compete in the La Liga 2 competition for the remainder of the 2025/26 season and beyond.

Before his spell in Croatia, Agbekpornu played in the Albanian Super League with KF Egnatia, where he spent two seasons after moving from Ghanaian side Dreams FC. His steady rise through European football has now earned him the opportunity to test himself in Spanish football.

On the international stage, Michael Agbekpornu has represented Ghana at the U23 level but is yet to make his senior debut for the Black Stars.

His move to SD Huesca presents another important step in his career as he looks to continue growing and attracting further recognition.
