German-Ghanaian striker Richmond Tachie has expressed his delight after completing his move to FC Magdeburg from FC Kaiserslautern in the 2. Bundesliga.
The 26-year-old, standing at 1.78 meters, said: “I’m delighted to be officially part of 1. FC Magdeburg. The club’s playing style is a perfect fit for me. The same goes for the values the club stands for, which were conveyed to me in our initial discussions. I’m especially looking forward to the fantastic atmosphere in the packed Avnet Arena, which I know from our previous matches against each other.”
Trained as a right-footer, Tachie began his football journey at Tennis Borussia Berlin before joining VfL Wolfsburg’s academy, progressing through all youth levels to the U-23s.
He later featured for Viktoria Köln and Borussia Dortmund II, scoring eleven goals and providing ten assists in 40 matches, helping Dortmund II gain promotion to the 3. Liga in 2021.
He also played for SC Paderborn in the 2. Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, followed by a return to Kaiserslautern after a loan spell at Eintracht Braunschweig.
Tachie aims to quickly integrate into the squad, bring energy and versatility in attack, and repay the club’s trust with strong performances on the pitch.
