FC Magdeburg sporting director Otmar Schork has praised the experience and versatility that German-Ghanaian striker Richmond Tachie brings to the club.
“Richmond is a player with experience in the second division who can be deployed in various attacking positions. We are convinced of his quality and believe he can help us in the second half of the season without a long adjustment period,” Schork said.
The 26-year-old, standing 1.78 meters tall, joins from FC Kaiserslautern, where he last played in the 2. Bundesliga. Trained as a right-footer, Tachie started his career at Tennis Borussia Berlin before moving to VfL Wolfsburg’s academy, progressing through all youth levels to the U23s.
He later played for Viktoria Köln and Borussia Dortmund II, scoring eleven goals and providing ten assists in 40 matches, helping Dortmund II achieve promotion to the 3. Liga in 2021. Subsequent stops included SC Paderborn in the 2. Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, followed by a loan spell at Eintracht Braunschweig before returning to Kaiserslautern.
Schork added that Tachie’s combination of pace, physicality, and goal threat is expected to boost internal competition and offer new attacking options for FC Magdeburg.
