English international Michelle Agyemang has opened up about her steady recovery from injury while setting her sights on becoming one of the most feared strikers in women’s football during her time at Arsenal.

The highly rated young forward, who is regarded as one of the brightest prospects at the North London club, revealed that her rehabilitation process has been positive and that she is improving with each passing day under the care of Arsenal’s medical and technical team.

According to Agyemang, the club has played a key role in supporting her journey back to full fitness, allowing her to focus on gradual progress while regaining strength and confidence.

“It’s going very well. I’m doing very well at Arsenal,” she said. “They’re really taking care of me and every day is a building day and I’m progressing very nicely, which is good.”

Despite being sidelined, the young attacker remains firmly focused on her long-term ambitions, with a clear goal in mind: to become one of the best strikers in the world. She emphasised that scoring goals will always remain central to her role on the pitch, but she wants to push herself to reach the highest level possible.

“Obviously my main task is to score goals, but I want to be the best striker in the world,” Agyemang stated, pointing to established Women’s Super League stars Alessia Russo and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw as players she admires and hopes to emulate. “They have been great strikers in this league.”

Her ambitions go beyond individual success, as she also expressed a deep emotional connection to Arsenal and a strong desire to achieve everything possible with the club she supports.

“Definitely! I want everything with them. That’s my team and I’m an Arsenal fan, so yeah, I definitely want to be in everything with them,” she added.

Agyemang, who turned 20 on Tuesday, was speaking at the Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards 2025.

She was named the Young Sportswoman of the Year, while England boss Sarina Wiegman won the Editor’s Choice Award.

Hannah Hampton was nominated for the Sportswoman of the Year, which was won by rugby’s Ellie Kildunne.

In 2025, Agyemang was named the Golden Girl by Italian publication Tuttosport. She also won the BBC’s Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
