SUPER CLASH: “With fans behind us, we’ll beat Hearts of Oak” — Kotoko Defender Lord Amoah

Asante Kotoko defender Lord Amoah has issued a rallying call to the club’s supporters ahead of Sunday’s blockbuster clash against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak, insisting that the team’s revival begins with the fans’ backing.

The Porcupine Warriors will host the Phobians at the Baba Yara Stadium in a high-stakes Matchday 22 encounter, a fixture that could define the direction of Kotoko’s season. Coming off a difficult run that includes their exit from the MTN FA Cup, Amoah admits the players owe supporters a response.

Speaking to Pure FM, the right-back apologised for the team’s recent struggles and acknowledged the frustration among the fanbase.

“We are disappointed with our recent poor performance, including our MTN FA Cup exit. We are sorry for that,” Amoah said.

Despite sitting eight points behind league leaders Medeama SC, the Kotoko defender remains remarkably confident that the title race is not over. According to Amoah, the team believes it can put together a perfect run between now and the end of the season.

“I can confidently say that we will win the rest of the games, starting from the Hearts of Oak game this Sunday. I promise we are winning the Ghana Premier League despite Medeama leading us by eight points,” he declared.

Central to that ambition, Amoah says, is the presence and energy of Kotoko’s supporters, whom he believes can make the difference in the Super Clash.

“All we need is the presence of our supporters,” he added. “If they come and stand with us, we will beat Hearts of Oak.”

With pride, points, and momentum all on the line, Sunday’s showdown against Hearts of Oak represents more than just another league match for Kotoko. For Amoah and his teammates, it is the starting point of a bold title push—and a chance to reconnect with the supporters who have long been regarded as the club’s 12th man.
