President of the Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has officially set the national U-15 Girls team’s 2026 agenda in motion after meeting with the management committee on Monday, February 16, 2026, to outline a clear roadmap for scouting, player development and competitive readiness.

The President expressed his appreciation to committee chairman Dr Charles Osei Antoh and his team for accepting the responsibility of guiding one of the country’s most critical youth national teams.

He urged the committee to work closely with the National Juvenile Committee (NJC)  and immediately begin nationwide scouting and preparations, emphasising the importance of early planning as the team gears up for key competitions scheduled for later this year.

Dr. Osei Antoh, in response, expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in the committee and pledged their commitment to building a competitive and well-structured team. He stressed the need for streamlined operations and strict adherence to player eligibility criteria to ensure fairness and long-term development.

He also called on scouts to intensify their presence at match centres hosting the ongoing FIFA-backed Regional Leagues, urging them to identify and recommend talented players within the appropriate age bracket.

Regional Football Coordinator Daasebre Adu Asare commended the steady progress of girls’ football across the country and encouraged the committee to broaden its talent pool by monitoring promising players within the GFA Elite Academy system as part of a comprehensive call-up framework.

Technical Director Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah underscored the importance of adhering to the FIFA Talent Identification Programme guidelines, stressing that player selection must remain age-appropriate, transparent and technically sound. He also called for strong collaboration between the committee, coaches and technical staff to ensure consistency in player development.

National Teams Director and Deputy General Secretary Alex Asante assured the committee of full administrative and operational support, while highlighting the importance of maintaining high standards in player welfare, coaching oversight and regular camp monitoring.

The Management Committee has overall oversight responsibility for setting the strategic direction and long-term development plan to guide the activities of the national U-15 Girls team. The committee serves as a vital link between the technical team and the Football Association, ensuring effective communication, coordination and alignment with the FA’s broader football development objectives.

In addition, the committee is tasked with ensuring that camping facilities are adequate, safe and conducive to the optimal preparation of both players and technical staff. It is also responsible for guaranteeing the timely provision of all essential logistics, including medical support, training kits, footballs, boots and other technical equipment, ensuring that these resources are available in the right quantities and at the appropriate time to support the team’s activities.

Furthermore, members of the committee are expected to conduct regular visits to training camps to monitor operations, assess the welfare and needs of players and staff, and ensure that the environment remains professional and supportive.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including members of the management committee, the Technical Director, National Teams Director and Regional Coordinator.
