Head coach of Medeama SC, Ibrahim Tanko, believes midfielder Salim Adams has earned the right to be considered for the Ghana national football team following his standout displays in the Ghana Premier League.
The 23-year-old has been one of Medeama’s key performers this season, netting five goals in 19 league appearances as the Yellow and Mauve mount a strong push for another league title. Since arriving from New Edubiase United at the start of the 2025/26 campaign, Adams has cemented his place in Tanko’s setup with consistent and influential performances.
His form has sparked growing calls from supporters for a national team invitation ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
“It’s no secret that Salim is doing well and scoring some fantastic goals,” Tanko said. “With the Black Stars technical team closely monitoring the league, I’m confident he will get his opportunity.”
Adams is no stranger to national duty, having featured twice and scored once for the Ghana national under-23 football team. He first gained prominence in 2021 after earning a move to Accra Hearts of Oak, and later broadened his experience with a loan spell at FC Cincinnati 2 in the United States.
With his current trajectory, Adams appears to be positioning himself strongly for a potential breakthrough at senior international level.
