Ghana ace forward Frank Acheampong has joined his Dalian Yingbo teammates in Shanghai as the club intensify their preparations for the upcoming season.
The Ghanaian international who recently joined the Chinese Super League club on a one-year contract, has swiftly commenced serious training with the club at their pre-season sessions to sharpen his scoring record ahead of the fresh season.
Acheampong, 32, arrives on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Henan FC, where he enjoyed a productive stint. He capped off his final campaign at Henan with 14 goals and three assists, finishing as one of the club’s standout performers.

Known for his explosive pace and attacking drive, Acheampong was instrumental throughout the 2025 season and played a significant role in Henan’s run to the Chinese FA Cup final. However, they were beaten 3-0 by reigning champions Beijing Guoan in the decisive encounter.
Despite Henan’s attempts to secure him on a new deal, the ex-RSC Anderlecht forward opted for a fresh challenge with Dalian, who are aiming to bolster their squad as they look to mount a strong campaign in 2026.
Acheampong, a member of Ghana’s squad that finished as runners-up at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, is expected to add experience and attacking quality to his new side.
