Interim head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prince Yaw Owusu, has opened up on the challenges his side faced following a disappointing 1-0 loss to Hearts of Oak, but insists the team is now focused and ready for their upcoming Ghana Premier League Week 24 clash against Vision Football Club.
The Porcupine Warriors will host Vision FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, March 1, seeking to build on a morale-boosting 2-0 victory over Young Apostles in their previous outing.
Speaking to AKSC Media, Owusu admitted the team’s confidence had dipped after the defeat to Hearts of Oak, but praised the steps taken to restore focus and unity in the camp.
“After the Hearts of Oak game, morale was low, but we held a few meetings to lift the players’ spirits. Luckily, we bounced back with a victory. We are ready to face Vision FC as well. It won’t be easy, but in the end, victory will be ours,” he said.
The interim coach is keen to see his players maintain consistency as Kotoko look to consolidate their position in the league and continue their push for a strong finish to the season.
Kickoff for the Asante Kotoko vs Vision FC clash is set for 3:00 pm, with the Reds aiming to carry their renewed momentum forward and secure maximum points on home turf.
