Finish giants HJK Helsinki have announced the signed Ghanaian midfeilder Emmanuel Boateng. The 28-year-old midfielder will join the club on a contract until the 2026 season, which also includes an option for the 2027 season.
Boateng’s contract was finalized back in January, and he is set to finally arrive in Finland soon, once the final permit requirements have been sorted out. “We will introduce Boateng to the public in more detail when he arrives in Helsinki.” the club said in a statement on its official website.
“I am really excited to join HJK. I can’t wait to get started and meet everyone. Let’s make this a great season! Boateng is reporting from his home country.” said Boateng after his transfer completion.
Boateng moved to Europe in 2018 after winning the Ghana Super Cup with Aduana Stars, and joined Israeli side Hapoel Tel Aviv. From Hapoel, his journey continued with a four-year contract with Swedish side Elfsborg, where he was one of the team’s key players.
In January 2024, he was sold from Elfsborg to Turkish side Konyaspor, where his contract expired last autumn. He will now join the club as a free agent.
