Ghanaian midfielder Yaw Yeboah has completed a move to Qingdao Hainiu in the Chinese Super League, marking a fresh chapter in his professional career. The 28-year-old joins the Chinese side after leaving Los Angeles FC, where he enjoyed a successful spell in Major League Soccer.
Yeboah’s move to Asia comes after more than ten years of playing football in Europe and the United States. He began his European journey with English giants Manchester City, a big step early in his career that exposed him to top-level football. Although he did not establish himself fully in England, the experience helped shape him into the strong and confident player he is today.
During his time in America, Yeboah became one of the respected African players in the league. He first made a strong impact with Columbus Crew, where his pace, skill, and eye for goal made him a key figure.
His performances earned him recognition and praise across the league. Later, he moved to Los Angeles FC and achieved one of the biggest highlights of his career by winning the MLS title in 2023. That triumph added an important trophy to his journey and showed his ability to compete at the highest level.
Before moving to the United States, Yeboah had spells with several European clubs, including Lille OSC in France, FC Twente in the Netherlands, Real Oviedo and CD Numancia in Spain, as well as Wisła Kraków in Poland. These moves gave him valuable international experience and helped him grow both on and off the pitch.
Qingdao Hainiu will be hoping Yeboah’s experience can help improve their performance in the upcoming season. The club finished 16th in the last campaign and will be looking to climb higher on the table. With his speed on the wings, creative passing, and ability to score important goals, Yeboah is expected to play a major role in the team’s plans.
On the international stage, Yeboah has represented Ghana at different levels and once captained the Ghana U23 side. He has also earned four caps for the senior national team. His move to China could offer him a new platform to continue proving himself and possibly fight for more opportunities with the Black Stars.
This transfer signals a bold new step for Yaw Yeboah. After building his career across Europe and America, he now takes his talent to Asia with the hope of making another strong impact. Ghanaian football followers will be eager to see how he performs in this new adventure.
