Former Ghana international Prince Tagoe has called on the current generation of Black Stars players to show appreciation to their supporters, saying that good deeds off the pitch can positively impact performance on it.
Speaking in a recent interview, Tagoe addressed criticism that the current team appears “stingy” with their gestures of gratitude toward fans. “As Black Stars players, if you don’t show enough love to the people who support you, it’s a problem. I don’t see that current crop of Black Stars players doing that, and that’s why people say they are stingy,” he said in an interview with Sporty FM.
Tagoe elaborated on the spiritual and motivational significance of giving back. “When players of the Black Stars show love, the fans will use some of that to pay offering in church and pray for them. Football is not just about talent,” he added.
