Ghana Black Stars defender Jonas Adjei Adjetey completed the full 90 minutes for VfL Wolfsburg in their disappointing 2–1 home defeat to Hamburger SV in the German league.
The Ghanaian centre-back put in a hardworking performance at the heart of Wolfsburg’s defence but was shown a yellow card during the game as the Wolves struggled to contain the visitors’ attacking pressure.
Despite his effort and defensive presence, Wolfsburg were unable to secure a positive result in front of their home fans. Adjetey finished the match with a 6.9 rating, reflecting a fairly solid individual display in a difficult outing for his side.
The defeat leaves VfL Wolfsburg in a worrying position on the league table, currently sitting 17th with 20 points after 25 matches, as they continue to battle to move away from the relegation zone.
For the Black Stars defender, however, completing the full match highlights the growing trust the technical team has in him as a key member of the defensive unit. Ghanaian fans will be hoping Adjetey continues to gain valuable minutes and improve his performances as the season progresses.
