“To win the EPL Player of the Month award soon after joining City is something I’ll never forget” – Semenyo

Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo believes his game has developed significantly since completing his move to Manchester City FC during the winter transfer window.

The 26-year-old striker was recently named Premier League Player of the Month for February after an impressive start to life at the Etihad Stadium.

Semenyo scored three goals and provided one assist in five Premier League appearances, finishing ahead of several top contenders including Benjamin Šeško, Viktor Gyökeres, Dango Ouattara, Virgil van Dijk, and teammate Nico O’Reilly.

Although he had previously been nominated for the award during his time at AFC Bournemouth, this marks the first time the Ghana international has won the honour.

“This is a brilliant moment for me. To win the Premier League Player of the Month award so soon after joining City is something I’ll never forget,” Semenyo said.

The former Bristol City FC forward added that working in Manchester City’s environment has already elevated his performance.

“It’s been such an amazing start to life at this club. I’m learning so much every day and I honestly feel I’m already a better player. I’ve been made to feel welcome from day one, which has helped me stay focused and give my best on the pitch.”

Despite the individual recognition, Semenyo insists his priority remains helping the team finish the season strongly.

“My focus now is to keep improving and help City achieve the best possible results. There is still so much to play for and I’m really excited about the final part of the season.”

The Ghanaian striker is currently enjoying the most prolific campaign of his career, scoring 15 Premier League goals so far this season. He trails only Igor Thiago of Brentford FC and Erling Haaland in the race for the Golden Boot.
