Former Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has made it clear that Aduana FC have not given up on their Ghana Premier League ambitions, even as they prepare for this weekend’s MTN FA Cup quarter-final.
Speaking to Citi Sports ahead of Saturday’s clash with Techiman Liberty, the club’s International Relations Manager reminded them that the season is far from over on two fronts.
‘We are still in the league. We are vying for two things now, and we are playing in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Saturday,” Badu said.
Aduana currently sit third in the standings, five points adrift of leaders Medeama SC, with nine matches remaining. For Badu, that deficit is far from insurmountable.
“In the league, we are third on the log, and Medeama are leading us by five points with nine matches to go. With 27 points to play for, anything can happen.”
While the FA Cup offers a direct route to silverware, Badu stressed that the league campaign remains very much alive.
“We are concentrating on taking it match after match. We are preparing for the FA Cup, and we will see what will happen.”
A successful finish in either competition would bring joy to the club’s hierarchy and fans.
“It will bring happiness if, after the season, we can finish in a respectable position for Nana Agyemang Badu. But we are calm and taking it game after game.”
The quarter-final against Techiman Liberty kicks off at 3 pm on Saturday, with Aduana chasing glory on two fronts.
