Ghanaian centre-back Philip Duah captained Reading U21 to a 2–1 away win against West Ham U21, showcasing leadership and composure at the back.
The 19-year-old, already with 16 senior appearances under his belt, led by example, organizing the defense and ensuring the team maintained structure throughout the game.
His experience at senior level proved invaluable in guiding his teammates to secure the three points.
Meanwhile, fellow Ghanaian Kelvin Abrefa was deployed at left-back, despite being a natural right-back. Abrefa played the full 90 minutes, contributing defensively and supporting the attack on the flank.
This victory marked the fourth game for Reading U21 this season with Duah captaining, highlighting his growing importance and leadership role within the youth setup. Both young Ghanaians continue to impress and are gradually making their mark as talents to watch in English football.
