Marvin Senaya has expressed great excitement after being called up to the Ghana Black Stars, confirming his commitment to represent Ghana despite previously being named in Togo’s squad.
Senaya, who currently plays as a full-back for French Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre, was initially included in Togo coach Patrice Neveu’s squad for friendlies against Guinea and Niger. However, born to a Ghanaian mother and a Togolese father, the 26-man Ghana roster selection gave him the chance to pledge his international future to the Black Stars.
Frederick Acheampong confirmed that Senaya has chosen Ghana, noting that the player is extremely happy and proud about the call-up. Acheampong added that Senaya’s teammates at Auxerre, including Gideon Mensah and Elisha Owusu, have shared in his delight.
The Black Stars are scheduled to face Austria on Friday, March 27, 2026, before traveling to Stuttgart for a high-profile friendly against Germany on Monday, March 30, 2026.
Senaya’s decision underscores his commitment to Ghanaian football and strengthens the national squad ahead of these international fixtures.
