Ghana striker Inaki Williams has withdrawn from the Black Stars squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Austria and Germany after sustaining an injury over the weekend.
The forward was in action for Athletic Club during their 2-1 victory over Real Betis, registering two assists but subsequent scans revealed he sustained a knock during the match, preventing him from making the trip to Vienna.
His withdrawal represents a setback for Ghana’s technical team as they gear up for two important test matches in Europe. The Black Stars are scheduled to face Austria on March 27 before travelling to Stuttgart to take on Germany three days later.
The friendlies are a key part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they have been drawn in a challenging group alongside Panama, Croatia and England.
