Otto Addo, head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars, has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to recover strongly as they prepare to face Germany in their next international friendly.
He called on his players to respond positively following the heavy 5-1 defeat to Austria, stressing that the result, though disappointing, does not fully reflect the balance of the game. According to him, Ghana created several chances and could have ended the match on a different note if those opportunities had been converted.
Addo indicated that the technical team has taken valuable lessons from the defeat and has worked with the players to correct key mistakes ahead of the crucial encounter. He expressed optimism that the attacking unit will be more clinical in front of goal in the upcoming match.
The coach further reminded his squad of their resilience, pointing to past situations where the team faced setbacks but managed to recover and perform strongly. He noted that such experiences should serve as motivation for the players to improve and deliver a better performance.
Addo added that discussions have been held within the team to address lapses and strengthen their approach, with a shared commitment to raise their level against a strong German side.
The Black Stars will take on Germany at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart, with kickoff scheduled for 6:45pm GMT, as part of preparations for future competitions.
