Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford has expressed deep concern over his side’s recent dip in form, describing their three-game winless streak as a major worry ahead of their crucial Ghana Premier League clash against Vision FC.
The Kpando-based side have endured a difficult spell, managing just one win in their last seven matches, a run that has seen them slip down the league table and come under increasing pressure as the season enters its final stretch.
Speaking ahead of their Matchday 28 fixture at the Kpando Stadium, Hayford pointed to his team’s lack of efficiency in front of goal as the key factor behind their struggles, despite creating numerous scoring opportunities in recent games.
“It’s a worry. In the last three matches, we have created a lot of chances, and finishing has been a problem that we are deliberating on. So we are still working on it,” Hayford said.
Heart of Lions currently sit 13th on the table with 34 points, just a point behind their opponents Vision FC, making Sunday’s encounter a crucial battle in the lower half of the standings.
With the relegation fight tightening, Hayford acknowledges that improving his side’s finishing is now not just a tactical priority, but a necessity if they are to secure their top-flight status and climb back toward mid-table safety.
