Antoine Semenyo has praised Manchester City’s collective performance following their dominant 4-0 victory over Liverpool FC in the FA Cup quarter-final.
Speaking after the April 4 clash with TNT Sports, the Ghana international credited the emphatic win to a strong team ethic built on defensive discipline and clinical finishing.
Semenyo, who netted City’s third goal early in the second half after being set up by Rayan Cherki, revealed that the team was determined to build on their recent Carabao Cup triumph with another statement performance.
“Feels amazing. The team played really well today. We wanted to continue from the Carabao Cup final, and we carried on today,” he said.
The 26-year-old also disclosed that the squad had held internal discussions after the cup final, focusing on improving both their attacking output and defensive organisation.
“We said from the final that once we are back, we wanted to score goals and defend as a team—and we did that perfectly today,” he added.
The victory was further highlighted by a stunning hat-trick from Erling Haaland, while goalkeeper James Trafford played a crucial role with a key penalty save to preserve City’s clean sheet.
For Semenyo, who joined City in a reported £64 million deal in January 2026, the performance showcased a near-perfect execution of their tactical plan as the team continues its push for more silverware this season.
