Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Didi Dramani, has applauded the club’s medical team for their rapid and professional response after goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi suffered a concussion during their Ghana Premier League clash against Young Apostles.
The incident occurred in stoppage time when Agbasi sustained a head injury while making what seemed like a routine save. Medical personnel quickly attended to him on the pitch before he was transported by ambulance to a medical facility at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Speaking after the game, Dramani commended the swift intervention of the medics.
“The medics responded to the situation quite well and on time, so he was revived in no time.”
He also explained why the goalkeeper was absent from post-match duties, stressing the seriousness of such injuries.
“He could not come to the post-match conference because it was too soon for him. You cannot underrate these things. You think you are fine, but you really need to be monitored for a while.”
Dramani confirmed that Agbasi is now stable and remains under observation as the club prioritizes his recovery. The goalkeeper, who has featured 11 times this season as a second-choice option, is expected to undergo further monitoring before returning to action.
A concussion is a form of mild brain injury caused by a sudden impact to the head, often resulting in symptoms such as dizziness, confusion, headaches, and temporary memory issues.
